MINISO joins roster at Cross Country Center

Yonkers, NY According to Marx Realty, MINISO is a new tenant at Cross County Center.

MINISO, the global lifestyle retailer, will take 4,000 s/f at Cross County Center in its first Westchester County location.

Marx Realty was represented in house by Mark Utreras in each transaction. MINISO was represented by Josh Podell of Podell Real Estate Advisors.

Cross County Center – the nation’s first and oldest open-air lifestyle center – celebrates its 70th anniversary this year.

“Under the ‘Life is for fun’ tagline, MINISO brings a fresh concept to Cross County Center with its playful approach to the shopping experience,” said Craig Deitelzweig, CEO of Marx Realty.

“Cross County represents an enduring symbol of excellence and community spirit, captivating generations of shoppers since its inception 70 years ago,” said Deitelzweig. “We are incredibly excited to celebrate its legacy by providing engaging and enriching experiences while fostering a strong community bond.”

Recently, Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty line opened its first Westchester County location in 5,000 s/f of space at Cross County Center, amplifying the center’s reputation as an iconic beacon of innovation and remarkable growth. From the opening of the John Wanamaker department store to the arrival of Gimbels in the 1980s to today’s contemporary live/work/play mix of tenants, the center has established itself as a premier shopping and entertainment destination.

Seventy years ago, Cross County Center revolutionized the retail landscape as the nation’s first and only open-air shopping destination. Originally housing approximately 30 stores, the center expanded to nearly 100 stores across multiple buildings. Since its official opening on April 28, 1954, Cross County Center has continued to evolve, attracting cutting-edge retailers and fostering a community atmosphere, cementing Yonkers as a thriving community hub in the larger Tri-State region.

Cross County Center has long been committed to fostering a sense of community and resilience. Throughout various economic cycles – from the recession and gas crisis of the 1980s to surmounting the challenges posed by the growth of online shopping, and the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic – the center has remained steadfast in its unwavering commitment to supporting the vitality of the region and serving as a welcoming space for visitors whether they come to shop or to simply unwind with family, friends and co-workers.

The 1.15 million s/f Cross County Center is managed by Marx Realty. The outdoor lifestyle center is located at the intersection of Cross County Pkwy. and I-87, attracting over 11 million visitors annually from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Cross County Center has attracted many of the top names in retail and dining including the first Shake Shack and Zara in the county as well as a growing Westchester Community College location. Marx Realty is in talks with the City of Yonkers to formalize the next phase of evolution at Cross County Center.
