Meyer of Colliers secures 10,000 s/f; Baker and Winick of Winick assist

Colliers International has arranged a 15-year, 10,000 s/f retail lease at 873 Broadway, with Duane Reade, renewing its lease in the building. The renewal includes 5,000 s/f each on the ground floor and below street level. Marty Meyer, vice chairman with Colliers International, represented the landlord, 873 Broadway LLC. Steve Baker and Jeff Winick, of Winick Realty, represented the tenant.The renewal takes effect in October. "Duane Reade is a valued pharmacy in the neighborhood," said Meyer, who noted that the druggist enjoys a highly-visible presence along Broadway with other retailers, including Paragon and ABC Carpet & Home, among others. "They have been a quality tenant, and we look forward to continuing the relationship." Located near Union Square at the corner of 18th Street, 873 Broadway is a 100,000 s/f office building with ground floor retail, in between Madison Square Park and Union Square Park, with convenient access to multiple bus and subway lines.

What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts? I would like to say there was an outstanding transaction for me this past year but 2024 was more a culmination of long-term relationships, most of which continued to transact. Deals were smaller in many cases but we saw robust leasing both on the agency side as well as on the tenant side.
