Meet the USGBC Members: Michael Cafaro and Joseph Harbeson

Michael Cafaro is manager of the Credentialing Department for CareCentrix, in Melville, which is one of the leading providers of home health benefits management services to the health care industry. His work there covers a wide variety of healthcare issues ranging from insurance, governmental liaison work and accreditation, to serving on the malpractice committee. He attended Stony Brook University form 1990-92. He is an active member of the Executive Committee of the Long Island Sierra Club where he serves as the fundraising, advertising and publicity chair. Cafaro is also the current advocacy chair of the USGBC-Long Island Chapter. Joseph Harbeson, a partner at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, Uniondale, is chair of its Construction Group and vice chair of the Litigation Department. His 30 year career includes extensive experience in all aspects of construction. A 1974 graduate of Princeton and 1978 graduate of Rutgers Law, he is an active member of USGBC-LI and co-chair of the Advocacy Committee. He is a warden of St. John's Episcopal Church, Tuckahoe, where he is also stewardship chair and sings in the choir.
