Meet the BMNAR Member - Dan Houlihan

Dan Houlihan created Houlihan & O'Malley Real Estates Services in 1984 when he acquired Walter P. O'Malley & Co. from his long-time mentor, James O'Malley, MAI, who during his career served as president of The Real Estate Board of the Bronx, and the Peter Minuet Post of the American Legion. Seeking to expand his focus on commercial appraisal into related enterprises, Houlihan asked his brother, Joe, to join him as partner and head a new residential appraisal division. Soon thereafter, their sister Liz joined the firm and is today their most senior staff person. As the brothers grew the appraisal business to include commercial brokerage, Joe saw the need for Houlihan & O'Malley to incorporate residential sales into their business portfolio. Leveraging his expertise in the residential market, Joe created the residential sales group in 1998. Forwarding the businesses commercial real estate interests, Gerry Houlihan, owner of Houlihan Business Brokers, joined his brothers in 2002, as a broker specializing in industrial and food service-specific properties. While walls were being broken down in their second floor office space to accommodate a new hard money loan business, commercial brokerage, and an emergent portfolio of management and ownership properties, construction began downstairs on what would become the storefront offices of the burgeoning Residential Sales Group. Opened in 2006 to showcase Houlihan & O'Malley's commitment to its residential division and growing number of agents, the storefront location on Parkway Road in the Village of Bronxville solidified the Residential Sales Group's standing as powerful ally in local real estate. From a determined one, to a dedicated group of ten, the award-winning associates of the Residential Sales Group each uniquely embody the stellar link between the Houlihan & O'Malley name and quality real estate, while representing the company's community interest through local charities. Founded on over a century of family experience in real estate, Houlihan & O'Malley today specializes in commercial appraisal and brokerage, residential sales, property management and ownership, and associated financial services. Through industry diversity and an immovable commitment to the values of excellence that have founded not only companies, but informed generations of a family, the strength of this business is realized. The death of the generic offering memorandum: What buyers expect in 2025 - by Kimberly Zar Bloorian

There was a time when an offering memorandum (OM) was pretty bare bones, some photos, a few bullet points on income, and a rent roll thrown in at the back. That used to get the job done. Not anymore. In 2025, buyers are sharper, faster, and more selective. They’re looking
