Meet the AIA Member - Rothstein

Gale Rothstein, a Center Professional Member, is assistant VP of Design Review at N.Y.C.'s Economic Development Corp. In this capacity, she works as liaison to the Public Design Commission (formerly the Art Commission). All EDC projects in the city's five boroughs are subject to Public Design Commission review, and she is responsible for managing communications and negations between the two agencies as these projects go through review. She also collaborates with architects, engineers, and co-applicants from city agencies such as the departments of Parks, Transportation, and Cultural Affairs as they develop EDC proposals. Her prior work, as a jewelry designer, gave her experience in running a business, product development and management, design, sales, marketing and trend forecasting, which are all important to her current role at the EDC.
