The sale of a 95,000 s/f industrial complex consisting of three interconnected buildings to three separate industrial businesses in need of 20,000 to 40,000 s/f each. What was your most notable project, deal or transaction in 2010? The sale of Proctor & Gamble's 335,000 s/f, 88-acre Woods Corners Research and Develpment facility in Norwich, N.Y. in cooperation with the former Colliers Houston & Company, headed by the late David Houston. This was our second co-listing with Colliers Houston. The property was purchased by Agro-Farma, a raidly growing food producer in rural Chenago, whose primary product is Chobai yogurt. County How do you contribute to your company and / or the industry? I try to provide the leadership, experience and contacts to help make the people who work with me successful. I think I also create good will for our comapany and our industry by giving back to the community and the commercial real estate industry through my service and contributions to numerous not-for-profit boards and industry groups, including NYSCAR, CCIM and SIOR. What advice would you give to women just starting out in commercial real estate? I would advise them to get as much education and to develop as much expertise as possible. How do you manage the work/life balance? I don't manage that part very well. I guess my answer is that you need a lot of stamina. Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career? I think the thing that keeps me striving for excellence is the realization that (most) clients truly appreciate the efforts made on their behalf. What impact has social networking had on your business? It must be my age, but the answer is none as it pertains to the social networking sites. Whereas, promotion and communication via the Internet in general has increased business opportunities exponentially.
