Manning Squires Hennig awarded contract for $5.645 million project; Monroe County Fleet Center Improvement project
Commercial construction firm Manning Squires Hennig (MSH) has been hired as the general trades contractor for the Monroe County Fleet Center improvement project. The $5.645 million project involves building a new 68,000 s/f building and 7,900 s/f addition to the existing space of the special operations building at the Paul Rd. facility, which is dedicated to maintenance of county-owned vehicles. Construction began in January.
MSH will build a new building, along with an addition to the existing building. MSH is responsible for the foundations and build-outs of the interior spaces. Once construction is completed in March of 2016, the building will be used for vehicle storage and office space that is responsible for service, repair and fueling of city vehicles and equipment.

Monroe County Fleet Center is part of the Equipment Services Fleet Maintenance Division of the Department of Environmental Services. It repairs over 840 vehicles and equipment assigned to county departments, such as parks, transportation, public safety, health, Greater Rochester International Airport and more. The Fleet Center features a comprehensive program of alternative fuel use, which is backed by advanced fleet-monitoring technology.
The center's major responsibilities include preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, vehicle and equipment procurement, and life cycle replacement of vehicles and equipment, with a staff of 10 automotive technicians. Vehicles and equipment are purchased or leased through operating and capital funds.
MSH will manage a variety of trades on the project, including cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing, polished concrete, unit masonry, structural and miscellaneous metals, rough carpentry, interior architectural woodwork, spray foam insulation, doors, frames, hardware, sectional doors, aluminum entrances, storefronts, windows, fiberglass sandwich panels and many others.
The facility is located at 145 Paul Rd.
