Mandell of GFP Real Estate leases 12,500 s/f at 318 West 39th St. to AMSALE

Manhattan, NY GFP Real Estate, LLC said that luxury fashion house AMSALE has signed a 10-year lease extension for its existing 12,500 s/f of space — the entire 12th floor — at 318 West 39th St. in the Garment District.

AMSALE, a Black owned business founded by Amsale Aberra and Neil Brown, produces bridal and event wear collections including AMSALE, Nouvelle Amsale, Amsale Bridesmaids, Little White Dress and Evening, each of which are carried in some of the finest department and specialty stores worldwide.

Matthew Mandell, senior managing director of GFP Real Estate, represented the landlord, GFP Real Estate, and the tenant, AMSALE, in the transaction. The fashion house will continue to use its space as a showroom, design studio and general and executive offices; the company has been a tenant at the building since 2005. “AMSALE is a long-term tenant that has enjoyed 318 West 39th St.’s convenient location for its customers and staff,” said Mandell.

“The company has seen its business flourish as the frequency of weddings and large events has returned to pre-pandemic regularity.”

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with GFP in this historic building at the epicenter of US fashion as our company continues to grow” said Neil Brown, CEO of AMSALE.

318 West 39th St. was built in 1915 and designed by the architectural firm of Crow, Lewis, & Wickenhafer on the former site of the Finck Brewery and was originally named the Finck Building. The thirteen-story building’s façade features classically inspired architectural detailing and a welcoming, modernized lobby.  Building tenants include the famous fashion house AMSALE as well as Barbara Bush’s non-profit organization, Global Health Corp.

Situated in the historic Garment District, the building is close to many area amenities, including the trendy eateries of Hell’s Kitchen, and ample transportation links including A, C and E trains on Eighth Avenue, the Port Authority Bus Terminal, and nearby Times Sq.-42nd St. station.
