Lynch of Trinity Real Estate secures 12-year lease for Hudson Square Mart: 1,451 s/f

Hudson Square Mart, an international news stand and café, has signed a 12-year lease for 1,451 s/f of prime ground-floor retail space at 225 Varick St., it was announced by Jason Pizer, senior vice president of real estate leasing for owner Trinity Real Estate.
Hudson Square Mart is the second branch of the news café. The flagship store, called Baja News Café, is located on 34th St. in Midtown. The new café, on Varick between Carmine and Downing Sts., joins restaurant and retail tenants Lucy Browne's, New York Sports Club and HSBC as well as the building's mix of office tenants including the National Audubon Society, Merrill and Startec Global Communications. Hudson Sq. Mart will join the neighborhood's business community ranging from King's Pharmacy, Scott Jordan Furniture, Todd Hase, Brian Reyes, Y's America (Yohji Yamamoto) and Atelier Fashion to Viacom, Postworks New York, Epoch Films, Deluxe Entertainment, New York Magazine, CBS Radio East and WNYC Public Radio.
"Hudson Sq.'s growing workforce of young professionals in creative arts, media and entertainment, publishing, fashion and design continues to attract savvy retailers and service providers," Pizer said.
Hudson Square Mart was represented by Stacey Kelz of Mogull Realty and Trinity Real Estate was represented by Tom Lynch. The rent per s/f is in the mid-$50s.
