Lutnick of Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Partners addresses YMWREA
Chairman and CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, L.P., Howard Lutnick, also chairman and CEO of BGC Partners, was the featured guest speaker at Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association's (YMWREA) monthly luncheon in November.
Lutnick discussed the recent acquisitions of the assets of Newmark Knight Frank and Grubb & Ellis leading to the formation of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, now a major real estate platform for BGC Partners. Post Hurricane Sandy, Lutnick chose to seize on that current disaster and impart his experience about rebuilding Cantor Fitzgerald following the devastating September 11th, 2001 World Trade Center terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of 658 of the firm's 960 New York-based employees. Each year on their annual charity day, Cantor and BGC donate their entire global revenues to charitable causes, commemorating their employees who perished on 9/11 by reaching out to help others.
