LIREG hosts owners of Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown

The Long Island Real Estate Group hosted a breakfast meeting on September 24 featuring Michael Iavarone and Richard Schiavo, co-presidents of International Equine Acquisitions Holdings Inc., the company that owns a 32.5 percent Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Big Brown among other thoroughbreds. The pair described their IEAH Stables inc., which is preparing to launch a hedge fund that will invest in thoroughbred race horses, and their now-under-construction Ruffian Equine Medical Center, adjacent to Belmont Park in Elmont, Long Island.
