Levy and Schwartz of Adams with Beyda of Benchmark secure lease

Adams & Co. Real Estate recently brokered an 11-year, 9,585 s/f lease at 42 W. 39th St. for the offices and showroom of Bijou International Corp. The company will occupy the eighth floor. Bijou International Corp. is a jewelry and accessory design company headquartered in New York City. Founded in 1984, the company is the premiere private label accessories manufacturer and design service. Specializing in costume jewelry and hair accessories, Bijou International has earned a reputation by creating unique, trend-setting designs that attract women and girls of all ages. David Levy and Jeffrey Schwartz of Adams represented the landlord while Michael Beyda of Benchmark Properties represented the tenant. Asking rent for the space was $33 per s/f. "Bijou International had outgrown its former office but didn't want to give up its strategic Garment District location," said Levy, principal of Adams & Co. "The new space at 42 W. 39th St. is ideal because it situates Bijou among other successful fashion companies and will allow the company to continue to expand." Built in 1927, the 18-story, 138,788 s/f property boasts a concierge, 24/7 access and is located in the heart of the Garment District. Notable tenants include Perry Ellis International, Bluefly.com, Castlewood Apparel, and Wear First, LLC. Adams & Co. Real Estate, LLC is among the top five leasing companies in New York City, as measured by total s/f. The full-service real estate firm is responsible for millions of square feet of office space and provides property management, brokerage and consulting services throughout Manhattan by teaming experience with innovation.
