Lembeck named COO of NAI Friedland Realty

NAI Friedland Realty has appointed Anthony Lembeck, former executive VP and industrial division head, as chief operational officer (COO), according to Robert Friedland, the firm's founder and chairman. Lembeck joined NAI Friedland Realty in 1995, after retiring from the practice of real estate law in Manhattan. Lembeck's main focus at Friedland has been on industrial transactions. In 2007, he was named manager of the industrial division. Lembeck has represented large property holders in both Westchester and the Bronx, including the exclusive representation of the Lockheed Martin Corp. on multiple transactions. He was successful in negotiating with the N.Y.C. board of education for the creation of a new high school in the Soundview section of the Bronx and recently concluded the transfer (for the second time) of the former 9.5-acre Loral Electronics site in the south Bronx to a real estate developer. Lembeck has the reputation of being a good and savvy negotiator and has consistently closed the greatest number of transactions at Friedland. "Tony Lembeck has a long and impressive history in commercial real estate," said Friedland. "His in-depth understanding of the industry has made him an invaluable asset to our clients, as well as to our company. We are pleased to welcome Tony as our new COO." The firm's former CEO, Steve Oder, has moved on to other opportunities. In addition to real estate, Lembeck has run a textile importing company, worked as a theatre producer in N.Y.C., and owned a boys sports summer camp in Maine. He is a member of the board of trustees of Temple Shaaray Tefila in Bedford Corners and is on the board of directors of Family Services of Westchester, a not-for-profit agency serving the needs of county residents. For the past 16 years, he has helped to run Camp Viva, a one-week sleep away camp for families affected by HIV/Aids. He is one of the founders of the camp. Lembeck received a bachelor of arts in 1979 from Rollins College, Winter Park, Fla., and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami's School of Law.
