Lawyers discuss real estate legal issues at CIBS roundtable - January 30
Eight prominent lawyers discussed legal issues facing Long Island's real estate industry at a Jan. 30 roundtable of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (CIBS).
The discussions focused on such matters as 1031 exchanges, broker disputes, tax certiorari, land use, leasing, financing and planning. The event took place at CLK-Houlihan Parnes' 135 Crossways Park Dr., Woodbury, and was sponsored by the Advantage Group of Companies.

When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
