Brooklyn, NY Landau Properties, in partnership with the Mizrachi family’s Third Millennium Group and Midtown Equities, commenced the groundbreaking of One Montague Pl., the mixed-use development in Brooklyn Heights. With construction now underway, the tower will introduce a collection of 46 design-forward luxury condominium residences, including half-floor, full-floor and triplex homes, in addition to 90 rental residences and 40,000 s/f of retail space along one of Brooklyn’s most storied corridors.

Project officials gathered to celebrate the start of construction. Among those in attendance were Landau Properties founding executives Jonathan Landau, DC Lowinger, and Yaeli Lowinger; Linda Zarifi, founder of Zarifi Design; Stephen Hill, partner at Hill West Architects; Greg Williamson and Andrew Anderson of Douglas Elliman; Karen Heyman of Sotheby’s International Realty; and executives from AECOM Tishman, Northwind Group and Third Millennium Group.

“Breaking ground on One Montague Pl. marks an important milestone. From the outset, our ambition was to bring together an extraordinary constellation of partners to create something truly singular — where architecture, design, hospitality, wellness, and culture come together in a way Brooklyn has never seen before,” said Jonathan Landau, founder and CEO of Landau Properties. “Brooklyn Heights has always drawn people who understand that where you live is an expression of who you are. One Montague Place is our answer to them: a home worthy of the neighborhood, and a new vantage point on Brooklyn Heights.”

Designed as a new benchmark for luxury residential living, One Montague Pl, will feature a limited collection of expansive condominium residences. Homes will begin at 3,000 s/f and offer at least three bedrooms, private outdoor space, custom-designed kitchens with Gaggenau appliances, wet and dry bars, and views spanning the New York Harbor, the Manhattan skyline and the East River bridges. New York-based Hill West leads the project’s architectural vision, bringing a striking, sculptural addition to the Brooklyn Heights skyline.

“We envisioned One Montague Place as a contemporary extension of the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood by creating a tower with a timeless and unmistakable form,” said Stephen Hill, founding partner of Hill West Architects. “Translating the ease of indoor/outdoor living commonly found in brownstones to residences in the sky encompassed by expansive loggias was a main design driver for the entire team. We wanted to create a tower comprised of moments of connection whether it be to your own living space, the neighborhood, the harbor or the ever-evolving skyline. We are proud to be working with the Landau Properties team designing another iconic tower for the incredible borough of Brooklyn.”

The development will also provide lifestyle offerings, including a jazz club, membership club and a curated suite of wellness, leisure and entertainment spaces, with world-class brands activating the retail spaces. Together, the residential, retail and hospitality-driven components will create a comprehensive lifestyle experience within one of the city’s best neighborhoods.

“With world-class amenities and stunning skyline views, One Montague Place will redefine luxury residential living in the heart of Brooklyn, and we are honored to break ground on this this game-changing project in conjunction with Landau Properties,” said Eric Reid, COO, AECOM Tishman. “For more than 125 years, AECOM Tishman has rebuilt and reimagined neighborhoods across the five boroughs, creating vibrant residential and commercial districts that have elevated the quality of life for millions of New Yorkers, and we are proud to continue that legacy with the construction of this state-of-the-art mixed-used development in one of Brooklyn’s most celebrated communities.”

Located in the center of historic Brooklyn Heights, One Montague Pl. is surrounded by tree-lined blocks, acclaimed cafés and boutiques, cultural institutions, waterfront parks, the Brooklyn Heights Promenade and several subway lines offering immediate access to Downtown Manhattan. The neighborhood’s singular combination of architectural heritage, charm and connectivity has long made it one of New York City’s most desirable residential markets.

In addition to breaking ground on One Montague Pl., Landau Properties continues to expand its portfolio of residential and commercial developments across New York and South Florida. Following the sellout of Indian Creek Residences & Yacht Club in Bay Harbor Islands, which set new price benchmarks in the region, the firm is also anticipated to deliver One Kane, a boutique office development poised to redefine modern workplace design, further affirming the Landau Properties’ commitment to the continued evolution of Bay Harbor Islands.
