Manhattan, NY KSS Architects has hired Erica Garfinkel, RA, LEED AP BD+C, who joins the firm’s New York City office as a senior architect. With a portfolio spanning multifamily residential, commercial office, and hospitality projects, Garfinkel brings a deep understanding of how local context and climate shape the built environment and human experience. She thrives in collaborative settings, finding inspiration in diverse perspectives and shared goals.
Garfinkel approaches design as a dialogue between intellect and intuition, balancing vision and detail to create thoughtful, context-driven architecture. Garfinkel earned her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Northeastern University. She is an active member of ULI New York and its Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI). Outside of the office, Garfinkel is an avid tennis player and coach who draws creative inspiration from her travels, translating her experiences into spaces that connect people and purpose.
“Erica brings a strong design sensibility and a deep curiosity about how architecture can shape community,” said Jason Chmura, AIA, LEED AP, partner at KSS Architects. “Her thoughtfulness and collaborative spirit align beautifully with our values and our growing presence in New York.”
