How has being a board member of a professional organization
impacted you or your business?
Serving as Dean of the Academy of Law of the Nassau County Bar Association was truly a professional "high" for me. It was the culmination of many years of service to the Academy, which offers Continuing Legal Education classes to New York attorneys. Working from liaison to "Dean" enabled me to meet numerous professionals in all aspects of the legal profession.
Since real estate is such an important part of the law, I lectured and moderated on a number of real estate topics, including mortgages, zoning and litigation, to name a few. These programs afforded real estate practitioners an opportunity to share ideas and solve common problems.
My satisfaction in serving my peers in this capacity has made the time and effort involved seem more than worthwhile. I heartily encourage all to participate in professional associations and boards. I have no doubt that those who participate will be equally gratified.
