According to CBRE Group, Inc., commercial real estate management professional Ramon Kochavi has joined the company as managing director for Midtown Manhattan office brokerage services.
Kochavi will be responsible for broker development and sales management, with a specific focus on associates and mid-career sales professionals. He will also support Midtown's training, recruiting and business development efforts.
"Career development of our emerging brokerage professionals is one of the hallmarks of CBRE's culture in New York and throughout our company," said Kyle Schoppmann, executive managing director and head of occupier services for CBRE's NY Tri-State Region, in announcing Kochavi's hiring. "Ramon is a welcome addition to our management team as we continue to acquire talent and resources to provide our professionals with the best training, tools and support required to meet the diverse needs of our clients," said Schoppmann.
A results-oriented professional, Kochavi is credited with building top-performing sales organizations and project management teams. Prior to joining CBRE, Kochavi was manager of brokerage services at The Saywitz Company, in Newport Beach, CA, where he grew the firm's commercial brokerage team by 30%, overseeing the year-over-year increase of leasing brokerage revenue by 25%.
Kochavi began his career in commercial real estate as a broker at
Marcus & Millichap's office in Ontario, CA, eventually becoming the office's sales manager. His role took him to New York City where he organized the firm's Manhattan office expansion. The following year, the Manhattan office became
Marcus & Millichap's top-ranked nationally. He then rose to regional manager in the firm's Washington, D.C., office, where he grew revenue by 31% in his first year.
Experienced in underwriting and financial modeling, Kochavi recently completed his Master of Business Administration at University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
