New York, NY According to Romer Debbas LLP, Richard Klein has just joined the firm as a partner. Klein previously ran his own law firm for the last 17 years.
In his new position, Klein will manage the firm’s co-op and condominium board practice serving as counsel to 50 boards.
Romer Debbas founding co-partner Michael Romer said Klein will be expected to play a major role in growing the firm’s residential and commercial real estate practices. In addition, he brings along an impressive roster of his own clients.
“Richard comes to the firm with vast experience representing not only co-op and condominium boards, but also handling residential and commercial real estate transactions,” said Romer.

During his legal career, Klein has spoken at conferences and seminars sponsored by Habitat Magazine and the Council of New York Cooperatives and Condominiums on various topics such as the myths and truths regarding various legal issues pertaining to the cooperative housing market.
He has also presented several seminars sponsored by the Hospitality Industry Committee of the Foundation for Accounting Education regarding the legal issues raised when buying or selling a restaurant business, and when negotiating a commercial lease for a restaurant business.
Klein has been interviewed in Sunday’s Real Estate section of The New York Times and selected to contribute to the book, “Think I Need a Lawyer, Now What?” by Marci Alboher. He was the “expert” attorney consultant for the book chapters on buying/selling a house, as well as starting a new business.
Outside of law, Klein continues to remain active in the real estate field by managing properties, serving on coop boards and being involved in other restaurant and business ventures.
He received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law and Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University. He is a member of the New York State and New York City Bar Associations.
