New York, NY According to the law firm of Rosenberg & Estis, P.C., Elise Kessler has joined the firm as of counsel and will work alongside the other 30 attorneys within its transactional law group. Her practice will focus on all areas of transactional law, including no-action letter condominium conversions, inclusionary housing, acquisitions, sales, financing and leasing.

Prior to joining Rosenberg & Estis, Kessler was a Partner with Seiden & Schein, P.C. where she represented developers in complex inclusionary housing transactions involving the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development. She also represented developers in acquisition, sales and financing transactions and the acquisition and sale of development rights and inclusionary air rights. In addition, Kessler, drafted and negotiated documents converting mixed-use properties to condominium ownership pursuant to no-action letters for purposes of tax incentives, financing and affordable housing requirements.

Earlier, Kessler had her own law practice in Valhalla. She served as Of Counsel to Ginsburg & Redmond, P.C. where she represented Ginsburg Development Corp. in a broad range of transactional matters. Before that, Kessler worked as associate general counsel for Kin Properties, and as Associate/Partner with McLaughlin & Stern LLP.

Kessler was a member of the town of New Castle town board, having been elected to the post for three consecutive terms, beginning January 2004.

She received a bachelor’s degree in American studies from Brandeis University and earned her juris doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law.

Kessler is a member of the New York State Bar and the New York City Bar Associations. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Real Property Law Section and a full committee member of the New York City Bar’s Land Use Planning and Zoning Committee. Kessler is also a member of Women in Housing and Finance Inc. and Commercial Real Estate Women in New York.
