Kemper System to demo Wall Guardian FW-100a at RCI2018 in Houston

At RCI, Kemper System will demonstrate Wall Guardian FW-100A air barrier
which combines performance with one of the lowest installed costs on the market.
The fibered-acrylic coating can be applied by roller, brush or sprayer, and
exceeds ASTM air barrier test standards.

West Seneca, NY One of the most-cost effective solutions for protecting building envelopes from weather, moisture and air infiltration – the liquid-applied Wall Guardian FW-100A fibered-acrylic air barrier – will be demonstrated by Kemper System America, Inc. at RCI 2018 in Houston, March 22-27.

The half-hour presentation is scheduled for March 25th at 10:15 a.m. in the RCI demo area.
It will include an overview of the history and variety of air barrier systems, as well as a step-by-step demonstration of how to apply the Wall Guardian system. Proven in the field for nearly a decade, the air barrier is designed to resist air and water infiltration, saving energy, and preventing moisture build-up that can lead to mildew and mold.

Performance and Value
Wall Guardian FW-100A air barrier assembly exceeds ASTM E2357 (Standard Test Method for Determining Air Leakage of Air Barrier Assemblies) with an air leakage rate of just 0.0004 cfm/ft2 @ 1.57 psf – 100 times better than the test requirement. And it exceeds the standard in a single coat at 40 mils wet film thickness (40 sq. ft. per gallon). This makes it one of the lowest installed-cost air barrier systems in the U.S.

Presenting for Kemper System will be James Arnold, RRO, PE, Director of Product Development, assisted by Chris Johnston, Technical Services Representative. Arnold has over 30 years of experience in the planning, design, specification and construction of building and public works projects across the U.S. He holds a bachelor’s of Civil Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois.

For over 60 years, Kemper System has been a global industry leader in cold liquid-applied, reinforced roofing and waterproofing, having invented the technology and holding the first patents. Today the company offers a full range of Building Envelope solutions to protect against weather, preserve the integrity of surfaces, and enhance the energy savings, comfort and value of buildings.

This encompasses Wall Guardian® fibered acrylic air barrier, Roof Guardian® elastomer-based roof coatings, GreatSeal sealants, and HeatBloc-ULTRATM radiant heat barrier. Other high-value brands include COELAN traffic coating systems, Kempertec sealant and primers, and the company flagship for exterior and interior waterproofing, Kemperol® reinforced membrane systems.

When the government takes a portion of a landowner’s property, most assume just compensation stops at the value of the land taken. However, in partial takings, that is only half of the equation.
