Keeler Markwood breaks ground on 74 unit residential project at 8 Chester Avenue

White Plains, NY Keeler Markwood, a boutique real estate development firm based in Westchester, broke ground on its latest residential project at 8 Chester Ave. Wednesday, November 1. White Plains mayor Thomas Roach was on-site for the ceremonial first dig.

Upon completion, 8 Chester Ave. will stand four stories tall and comprise 74 rental units. The building will offer attainable workforce housing, offering residences with tenant amenities - including a rooftop lounge and outdoor deck as well as package and bicycle storage rooms.

In addition to the groundbreaking, the event also unveiled interior renderings for the building. Attendees included members of the town Common Council, the commissioner of Planning for The City of White Plains, the deputy county executive for Westchester County, as well as other key members of the project’s development team.

“With 8 Chester Ave., we are proud to be bringing high-quality, attractively-priced housing to the heart of the White Plains dining and entertainment district,” said Sam Dickinson, principal of Keeler Markwood Group.

Matthew Tritt, principal of Keeler Markwood Group said, “We want to express our appreciation to the City of White Plains and Westchester County for their support in bringing this project to life.”

“I am pleased to celebrate the groundbreaking for 8 Chester Ave., our newest residential project. The building will provide needed apartments, including nine affordable units, and offers sustainable features including 75 KW of solar electric generation on the rooftop; installation of numerous electric vehicle charging stations; and a high efficiency electric heat pump system, which will be used to provide heating and cooling throughout the building,” said Roach. “This project adds to the diverse mix of housing in our city and does so in an environmentally friendly way.”
