Karimjee and Schoonmacher join Laffey Associates as CFO and executive vice president respectively

Laffey Associates has appointed Aslam Karimjee as chief financial officer. Reporting directly to the firm's Principals, Karimjee will be responsible for the company's finance, profitability, expense control strategies. Karimjee is a strategic and results-oriented senior finance and operations executive who brings more than 25 years of experience to this new position. "Aslam has a proven ability in diversified accounting, auditing and tax, and we are pleased that he has joined our leadership team," said principal, Emmett Laffey. "With his industry experience in financial services and a passion for operational finance initiatives, Aslam's expertise is a welcomed complement to our strategic initiatives and growth models. Aslam is already a natural fit at our firm!" Karimjee has financial experience working within large and small organizations, managing systems conversions, compliance audits, policy efficiencies and expense reduction. Prior to joining the Laffey Organization, he was a business process consultant and accountant specializing in all applications of public and private accounting with emphasis on SOX testing, general ledger, cash management, financial statement preparation, G/L Applications conversions and forensic auditing. Laffey Associates also appointed John Schoonmaker as its new executive vice president. Schoonmaker is responsible for professional business development of its strategic partners, (wholly owned affiliates Century 21 Laffey Associates, eRealty Title & First Allied Mortgage Bankers) and strategic markets (talent acquisition, relationship management) and operations (technology, productivity and project planning). Schoonmaker comes to Laffey from OnPoint Partners, a national executive search and consulting firm, where he served as President, and brings more than a dozen years of industry and management experience.
