A NYSERDA funded study (in process) looking at the viability of meeting the Passivhaus standard for high rise residential buildings in New York. What recent honor, achievement or recognition has meant the most to you and why? Running the New York City Marathon and passing my Certified Passive House Designer exam, which was more difficult than running the New York City Marathon! Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career and why? My father, for his strong sense of ethics, his people skills, his care for the environment, and his out of the box perspective. What is the first thing you do when you arrive in the office in the morning? Greet our wonderful receptionist Darryl. What time management strategies do you find to be the most effective for you? Block regular "desk time" every week so my calendar is not completely overrun with meetings. Relying on my excellent coordinator Melanie and assistant Elizabeth to take charge of specific tasks. Taking time to educate others about sustainability issues so they can take on ownership of them on their projects. Getting enough exercise and sleep to remain productive. What is the best advice you have received and who was it from? Always take three days to make an important decision. Received from my grandmother.
