JLL and NKF complete 15-yr. renewal: 48,228 s/f

Jones Lang LaSalle has completed a renewal for building owner MetLife Inc. at 575 Fifth Ave. with Barney's Inc. The department store chain renewed its lease for 48,228 s/f of office space at the 540,000 s/f class A building. MetLife was represented by Frank Doyle, international director, Cynthia Wasserberger, senior vice president, and Amanda Saltzman, analyst, all with Jones Lang LaSalle's New York office. The tenant, Barney's Inc., was represented by Barry Gosin, principal, Neal Golden, senior executive vice president, and Ross Perlman, associate director, with Newmark Knight Frank. Barney's renewed for 15 years, occupying the 10th and 11th floors. The building is located between East 46th and East 47th Sts. What noteworthy transactions or deals from this year best exemplified key market trends or shifts? I would like to say there was an outstanding transaction for me this past year but 2024 was more a culmination of long-term relationships, most of which continued to transact. Deals were smaller in many cases but we saw robust leasing both on the agency side as well as on the tenant side.
