Jinishian and Hecht of Colliers arrange Amazon's Shopbob lease expansion

With the Manhattan tech boom well underway, Colliers International has arranged additional expansion space with Shopbop at 230 West 41st St. The Amazon division now occupies 24,954 s/f in the building. Shopbob relocated to 230 West 41st St. from Soho — initially signing a long-term, 13,340 s/f lease for the entire 19th and 20th floors. The firm doubled its space last year, expanding to 24,000 s/f, with a lease for the entire 18th floor and space on the 16th floor. Now with a third expansion, also on the 16th floor, Shopbop occupies 24,954 s/f total in the building. "Given the building's high ceilings, convenient location, and new availabilities that have come Online recently because of expiring leases, several technology and creative firms have expressed significant interest in the remaining space at 230 West 41st St.," said Alex Jinishian, vice chairman, Colliers International, who along with director Seth Hecht represents the building owner, Research Foundation for the City University of New York (CUNY). "The instillations we've been doing at 230 West 41st Street have attracted a much different type of tenant than we've seen in the building in recent years," Hecht said. "We are delivering attractive pre-builds with creative layouts, resulting in strong activity." Built in 1923, 230 West 41st St. is a 20-story building situated between Seventh and Eighth Aves., with convenient access to restaurants, retail, multiple subway lines, and the Port Authority bus terminal and Penn Station.
