Jewish Broadcasting Service extends lease at 1560 Broadway

Manhattan, NY GFP Real Estate, LLC said that Jewish Education in Media Inc., d.b.a Jewish Broadcasting Service (JBS) — the non-profit American Jewish multimedia organization, with a 24/7 nationwide cable channel featuring religious services, daily news, original interview programs, films and cultural events of significance  — has signed a new five-year lease extension for its 4,385 s/f of office and broadcast studio space on the fourth floor of 1560 Broadway in Times Square.

Alan Steinberg of GFP Real Estate represented the landlord, 1560 Broadway Company LLC, in the transaction; Noam Benamy of Noah & Co. represented the tenant, Jewish Broadcasting Service.  The organization will continue to use the space for its general offices and as a broadcast and production studio. JBS first moved into the building in 2019.

“JBS is not just a tenant at 1560 Broadway; they are a valued part of our community here,” said Alan Steinberg of GFP Real Estate.  “We deeply appreciate their long-term commitment to this building and the important work they do.  We are excited to have them continue their mission at 1560 Broadway through this new long-term lease extension.”

“We love being at 1560 Broadway — it’s not just a great building, it’s also the perfect location,” said Justin Pines of JBS. “Being in the heart of New York City energizes our team and allows us to welcome the variety of guests from across the globe who join us in our studio to produce meaningful, impactful content.”

Built in 1925 and designed by the Bethlehem Engineering Corp., 1560 Broadway is a historic, 17-story 271,000 s/f building located in Times Square.  Home to Actors’ Equity, 1560 Broadway underwent major redevelopment in 2014 and was connected to the neighboring landmarked I. Miller Building by architects Rosen Johnson. The ambitious project included the addition of a monumental new office entrance, a 100-foot-long fourth floor sky lobby, and the opening of four contiguous floors of prime Times Square retail space, created by moving the original office entrance, to deliver significant street presence.

Positioned at the center of the Theater District, 1560 Broadway is a landmark of commerce that now takes an even more prominent place in this always vibrant location, drawing people to world-renowned shows, major retailers, and a multitude of eateries.  Numerous subway lines at nearby 42nd St-Times Square, Rockefeller Center, 49th Street and Port Authority provide fast transportation links with all areas of Manhattan and beyond.

The death of the generic offering memorandum: What buyers expect in 2025 - by Kimberly Zar Bloorian

There was a time when an offering memorandum (OM) was pretty bare bones, some photos, a few bullet points on income, and a rent roll thrown in at the back. That used to get the job done. Not anymore. In 2025, buyers are sharper, faster, and more selective. They’re looking
