Jack Resnick & Sons honored by the Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts

New York, NY The Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts has named Jack Resnick & Sons’ Steel Park as the 2016 POPS-Star Award winner in the nonprofit organization’s 33rd Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony. The winners were revealed during the Annual Meeting held on Tuesday, March 29th at the Cosmopolitan Club. The annual awards ceremony recognizes the exemplary restoration, renovation and advocacy work on the Upper East Side over the last year.  In addition to Jack Resnick & Sons, the Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts honored Susan Henshaw Jones & the Museum of the City of New York, Unite to Save the Frick, 20 East 93rd Street, the Apple Store of the Upper East Side and Orwasher’s Bakery. The POPS-Star Award recognizes outstanding privately-owned public spaces (POPs) in the neighborhood.  Designed in the early 1980s by renowned artist Tony Rosenthal, Steel Park is a public gathering space adjacent to Gracie Mews, the Resnick Organization’s 35-story, luxury residential tower at 401 East 80th St. “We are honored to receive this award from the Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts,” said Dennis Brady, executive managing director at Jack Resnick & Sons. “Steel Park is an important community asset, and we are very fortunate to be part of the architectural heritage and cultural legacy of the Upper East Side.” Throughout its existence, Jack Resnick & Sons has been a major force in the city’s dynamic commercial real estate market. The firm’s attention to detail has given the company a reputation for creating complete environments: from a building’s foundation, to the art gracing the lobby and entrances, to the surrounding neighborhood. In addition to Steel Park at 401 East 80th Street, Resnick’s commercial real estate portfolio includes works from major artists as Frank Stella, Charles Hinman, Lydia Donna, Henry Moore, Valerie Maynard and Dan Walsh.
