IREM NYC welcomes new industry partners, offers education programs and scholarships

New York, NY IREM NYC’s Industry Partners are at the heart of the organization. Each member is nominated by an IREM CPM member and is carefully vetted and screened, insuring that our Industry Partners reflect IREM’s core values of excellence, integrity and ethics. When you work with an IREM Industry Partner, you can be assured that you’re working with the best! We’re happy to announce that we have three new partners:

  • Champion Elevator Corp., an independently owned, full-service elevator maintenance, repair, violation removal, commercial and residential elevator installation an testing company.
  • Prise NYC, a full-service building compliance firm offering proactive building compliance, violation remediation and code consulting project management.
  • Safety Facility Services provides total facility support and maintenance, from janitorial services to security to engineering and operations maintenance.

Hone Your Skills
IREM is eponymous with professional certifications. The Certified Property Manager (CPM); Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) and Accredited Commercial Manager (ACoM) provide the education and skills property and asset managers need to succeed in our industry. But did you know that IREM’s education reaches far beyond certifications?

IREM offers over 180 on-demand courses to help build skills and keep up to date on emerging topics in real estate.

Each course is about one hour and can be accessed at your convenience. Courses are available individually or as an on-demand subscription with unlimited access to quality content from industry experts. Industry best practices and trending topics such as “The Power of the Digital Twin” and “Sustainability at DOC: Driving Positive Change through Capital Initiatives.”

Scholarships
Congratulations to Etleva Shkurti, a property manager at Advanced Management Services, a division of Argo Management. Shkurti was recently awarded a Sandra M. Kerin Scholarship. Once she obtains her ARM, Shkurti plans to become a CPM too.

IREM NYC offers two scholarships—the Sandra M. Kerin Memorial Scholarship provides full tuition to become an ACoM (Accredited Commercial Manager) or ARM (Accredited Residential Manager) and the George M Brooker Memorial Scholarship, which provides tuition for one required course for the CPM (Certified Property Manager).

To apply for either scholarship you must be U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old and have at least one year of relevant real estate property management experience.
