IREM holds annual dinner and awards event at Water's Edge; Majkowski of SL Green receives CPM of the Year

The Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) held its annual dinner and awards at Water's Edge. Elizabeth Majkowski, CPM, was the recipient of IREM's Certified Property Manager of the Year Award. Majkowski is senior vice president, operations at SL Green Realty Corp. Belfor's Gary Alexander received IREM's Industry Partner of the Year award. The award was presented to him by his long-time friend and colleague Frank Socci, Jr., CPM, president of the chapter and director of management at NAI Long Island. IREM also honored NAI Long Island as the Accredited Management Organization of the Year. Socci accepted the award on behalf of his company from Michael Hammerslag, CPM, vice president of IREM Education. The chapter's upcoming IREM courses and events include: * Leadership & Human Resource Essentials: March 9th & 10th - Successfully face the challenges of hiring, leading, managing, and evaluating your staff and discover how to operate a seamless human resources function. * Marketing & Leasing: Multifamily Properties: March 11th & 12th: Position your property in the market to attract and retain new residents with key strategies for reaching qualified prospects, selling your property's benefits, and successfully closing the deal. Both courses will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Knickerbocker Plaza, 151 Second Ave., Lobby Level. Per course fee: Non-members: $745; and members: $599. *2015 IREM Asset & Property Management Symposium: March 18th - Over 300 of your peers are expected to attend the symposium for a full day premium event featuring more than 30 speakers. Last year, top firms across the metropolitan area including Time Equities, Rudin Management, Related Companies, TIAA-CREF, RXR Realty, NY Life Co. Empire State Realty Trust, the Durst Organization, SL Green, Sitt Asset Management, Savanna, Silverstein Properties, the Moinian Group, and more came to this event.
