Thru the Lens: The Retail Network Partners with NYC Clothing Bank to Host Mother's Day Event

Kicking off their new alliance, The Retail Network and The New York City Clothing Bank partnered up to sponsor a Mother's Day Event at the NYCCB Clothing Warehouse at the Brooklyn Army Terminal on May 7th. The NYCCB has been one of the only programs in New York City to distribute new apparel, toys and other goods to help New Yorkers in need through its Clothing Community Resource Center (CCRC). Over a dozen volunteers from TRN helped more than 100 low income and homeless single family mothers celebrate their special day. The event was organized to offer the attendees new clothes and accessories, and provide them the much needed support and self confidence they need to find employment and housing. The event was a huge success according to Joshua Weinkranz of Kimco Realty. "What better way to celebrate Mother's Day than by helping single family mothers in need. Sometimes we forget how easy it is to give back and help others. The women were very appreciative," he said. "In addition to doing a good deed, it was a great opportunity for the Retail Network members to get to know each other on a personal basis. That's what we are all about. TRN is not just about business and doing deals, but it's about helping people and getting to know others in the industry at the same time," Weinkranz said. NYCCB is seeking new friends and partners to help fund the ongoing operations. It is also looking for inexpensive warehouse space in Brooklyn. If you have any thoughts or leads regarding who/how/where we can help this deserving organization, please contact The Retail Network, [email protected].
