Sternheimer of DMG named managing partner

According to the Law Firm of Deily, Mooney & Glastetter, LLP, (DMG) Joann Sternheimer has become the managing partner. The announcement was made by Jonathan Deily, founding partner of the firm. Sternheimer joined DMG in 2000 as an associate attorney, and became a partner in 2005. She graduated from Union College in 1987 and received her law degree from Rutgers Law School in 1993. After graduating from law school, Sternheimer served as law clerk to the Hon. William F. Tuohey, U.S.B.J. DNJ. Following her clerkship, Joann joined the bankruptcy department at Cole, Schotz, Meisel & Leonard, P.A. in Hackensack, New Jersey. Joann represents creditors, defendants and bankruptcy trustees in all types of bankruptcy litigation, including fraud-based actions, claim disputes and non-dischargeability actions. She also counsels lenders and borrowers in commercial loan transactions, negotiating and documenting working capital and term loans, and represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation including all phases of workout and debt restructuring matters. Joann serves as a board member of The Legal Project and volunteers with Legal Aid to provide legal advice to low-income clients and has received the Legal Project's Kurt Clobridge Award and the Capital District Women's Bar Association's Pro Bono Award in recognition of her dedication to pro bono service. She is an active member of the Capital Region Bankruptcy Bar Association, former board President of the Capital District Women's Bar Association and former co-chair of CDWBA's Classroom Project Committee. Through the Classroom Project, Joann helped launch the Credit Abuse Resistance and Education (CARE) program to educate high school and junior college students about the responsible use of credit and the risks of credit abuse. Joann is also a member of the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations. Joann is admitted to practice in the state courts of New Jersey and New York, the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Western Districts of New York. Joann resides in Albany, New York with her husband Billy.
