Quigley of Harter Secrest & Emery speaks at Inside Self-Storage World Expo
Patrick Quigley, Harter Secrest & Emery LLPRochester, NY Patrick Quigley, a partner at Harter Secrest & Emery LLP (HSE), was one of the featured speakers at the Inside Self-Storage World Expo, a national conference for the self-storage industry. The event was held April 25-28 in Las Vegas.
Quigley, who has experience in legal issues related to the industry and is a member of the New York Self-Storage Association, presented “Selling Self-Storage: Smart Investment and Exit Strategies” as part of the conference. The presentation focused on how acquisitions of self-storage properties can be structured, merger scenarios, and sale strategies for self-storage owners and investors.
“The self-storage industry is a multi-billion dollar industry in the United States that continues to attract a good deal of attention and business activity,” Quigley said. “With the vast majority of self-storage properties owned by individuals and small investors, and with more investors exploring both acquisition and sale opportunities, there are factors unique to the industry which owners and potential investors should understand.”
Quigley focuses his legal practice on representing institutional and individual clients in various and complex real estate matters. In addition to New York, he has assisted clients Arizona, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and regularly speaks at industry conferences on various real estate and self-storage legal issues. Quigley also represents national retail tenants in their commercial leasing throughout the country, and represents and counsels various condominium and homeowners associations.
