McGuire Development welcomes Burgio and Hicks

Buffalo, NY McGuire Development Company has appointed Aleece Burgio, Esq. as assistant general counsel & real estate development associate, and Lisa Hicks as associate director of development & finance. 

Burgio joins the McGuire team from Portland, Ore., bringing diverse experience in corporate and real estate law. Her role will be focused on the owner representation service offering, client development, and real estate consulting. Prior to joining McGuire Development, Burgio served as an associate attorney at Green Light Law Group. Burgio holds a Bachelors of Arts in History & Political Science from Saint Bonaventure University and a Juris Doctorate from SUNY Buffalo Law School. She is a licensed attorney admitted to practice in both New York and Oregon and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association, and the Oregon State Bar Association.

Hicks brings expertise in financial modelling, contract and lease negotiation, and a thorough understanding of the local commercial real estate market. She will be responsible for assisting the development and finance departments with financial analyses/economic pro formas, tracking commercial construction hard costs, communications with third parties, and pursuing municipal approvals. 

Hicks brings 8 years of commercial real estate experience from the Toronto, Ontario market. Most recently, she completed an internship with the Buffalo Urban Development Corp. Prior to that role, she served as a retail lease paralegal for Ivanhoé Cambridge.

Hicks holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from McMaster University and a Masters of Science in Architecture, specializing in Real Estate Development, from the University at Buffalo.
