Patrick Mc Gowan of Mc Gowan Builders, Inc. was honored at the Northern N.J. Big Brothers Big Sisters awards ceremony on May 19 at the Hanover Marriott. Mc Gowan was honored for his role in developing the Loretta Mc Gowan Foundation.
In addition to Mc Gowan, the Northern N.J. Big Brothers Big Sisters also honored their corporate and community partners.
The Loretta Mc Gowan Foundation, a non-profit organization with 501c3 status, was formed in 2007 to help foster education and research on Down Syndrome. The contributions raised thus far have been put towards bettering the foundation of educating and assistance to persons with Down Syndrome. In addition to creating a scholarship fund for students pursuing Special Education Degrees, some of The Loretta Mc Gowan Foundation efforts have also facilitated the Stepping Stones School of Livingston NJ, the Sisters La Sagesse / Cregg House Services in Sligo, Ireland, and the Irish Guide Dogs for The Blind.
