MBAofNY supports New York Cares Coat Drive

MBAofNY has joined in the efforts to support the 26th Annual New York Cares Coat Drive. The coat drive is one of the city's largest philanthropic traditions, providing local residents warm coats during the winter holiday season. Who receives coats? Homeless men, women, and children, the working poor, and at-risk senior citizens from New York Cares' partner nonprofit agencies and schools. In 2013, New York Cares collected 77,133 coats and has distributed about 1.6 million coats over the last 25 years. What kind of coats to donate? New York Cares only accepts new or gently used, freshly laundered jackets and coats from now until December 31th. Other clothing items, such as sweaters, hats and gloves, are encouraged to donate to your local charities. The value of any coat you donate to The New York Cares Coat Drive is tax-deductible. Please ask for donation receipt upon donating at New York Cares Coat Drive Warehouse. How to donate coats or contribute financially? Option #1 - In-person drop off at over 200 public sites around the city. A few are listed below: * New York Penn Station - LIRR concourse (weekdays, 7 to 9:30 a.m.) * Grand Central Terminal - Track 17/Graybar Passage (weekdays 7 to 9:30 a.m.) * Every branch in the Queens Public Library system (during open hours) * Every New York City Police Precinct (24 hours a day) For a full list of sites and an interactive map that will help you find the drop-off location nearest you, visit newyorkcares.org/coat-drive. Or, drop off or shipments addressed to: New York Cares Coat Drive Warehouse, 157 West 31 St., Basement 2, New York, NY 10001 Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., November 17 to December 31. When dropping off coats here, please call (646) 801-4022 when you arrive, and Coat Drive staff will meet you at the loading dock to accept your donation. Please mention Mortgage Bankers Association of New York for participation tracking purpose. Option #2 - Monetary donation.
