Industry Outlook:
Building reuse continues to be one of the most crucial real estate opportunities in every market where our firm gmp is active. Whether in the middle of an established commercial zone, on an urban university campus, or in an emerging cultural and arts district, repositioning, retrofitting, and adaptive reuse all generate outsized positive economic and climate impacts. What we find especially exciting is the scale and ambition of building reuse that’s now possible. In one case we are even adapting a single half-mile-long former factory structure into a new higher-education campus.

Looking Ahead:
A benefit of having offices on multiple continents is access to new ideas and emerging innovations across global markets. Right now, we are seeing tremendous opportunities for improving our projects’ speed-to-market and sustainability through new design and construction methods, from onsite robotic construction processes to hybrid structural systems. These are approaches gmp has utilized successfully in Asia and Europe, and we’re exploring ways to bring these methods to U.S. markets including New York.
