Construction of $12.5 million hotel at Orangeburg Commons underway; Project team of Pro Con and Jal Architects & Engineers

The new 129-key Residence Inn by Marriott located at the Orangeburg Commons is weather tight. Pro Con Inc., of Manchester, NH is the construction manager for the $12.5 million hotel, which is being built for FB Orangetown LLC. JAL Architects & Engineers are the project architects. The developer of Orangeburg Commons is RD Management, LLC. When fully built out, Orangeburg Commons will include a bank, restaurant, a Stop & Shop supermarket and the Residence Inn by Marriott hotel. According to the project manager for Pro Con, the framing, roof and the windows installation have been completed. The dry walling will be complete by mid-August and the interior finishes are underway. Pro Con continues to be on target for an October completion. The 4-story, 91,396 s/f hotel will offer studio and one bedroom suites with complete kitchens and separate sleeping and living room areas. The hotel will feature a gatehouse with a large hearth room, an indoor pool, a fitness room, outdoor sports court and guest laundry area. Residence Inn by Marriott is designed for the extended stay traveler with suites that are up to 50% larger than comparable hotel rooms, offering separate working, lounging, and sleeping areas and a fully equipped kitchen. Orangeburg Commons is being built on 16 acres on Route 303 near Exit 5 of the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Plans call for the commercial development to include the hotel, a grocery store, a bank and a restaurant.
