Columbia Development unveils $10 million medical building in North Greenbush

Columbia Development Companies' VP Richard Rosen spoke at the unveiling of the new Community Care and Albany Med Specialist Center at the Rensselaer Technology Park. "The $10 million medical building that Community Care Physicians formally unveiled is intended to offer a range of services under one roof for the convenience of the patient," said Dr. Ronald Musto, the group's executive vice president. In addition to offices and examination rooms, the two-story, 40,000 s/f building includes a laboratory, imaging facility, a workout room for patients, staff and area residents, an urgent care center and plastic surgery services. Specialists and staff from Albany Medical Center will rotate through the building to provide additional services to patients. "The building is networked with other Community Care offices. With X-ray and other imaging equipment on site, physicians can view within minutes results from the second-floor imaging center," Musto said. The new building also gives Albany Med a presence in Rensselaer County. It already has physicians in facilities in Latham, Malta, Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, and Kingston. "The search for a site went on for a year," said Rosen. "Before he contacted Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the tech park's owner," which Rosen said welcomed the project. BBL Medical Facilities built the new facility.
