Bak USA leases 10,000 s/f at McGuire Development

's Compass East; Manufacturing co. named to Start-Up NY program Buffalo, NY According to McGuire Development Company, a local commercial development, real estate consulting and property management firm, Bak USA LLC, a multinational high-tech manufacturing company, will locate its U.S. headquarters at Compass East. Compass East is located at 425 Michigan Ave. 10,000 s/f of space at Compass East was recently approved as a Start-Up NY location for the University at Buffalo. Bak USA will occupy the fifth floor of Compass East. Of the 10,000 s/f, half will be utilized for clean room PC tablet assembly and the other half will be used for administrative and back office services. As a Start-Up NY company, Bak USA has committed to bringing 100 new jobs to Buffalo in phase one, with a focus on hiring from the surrounding community. These positions will involve a comprehensive employee training program for the assembly of high-end, tailor-made tablet PC devices. "We are absolutely thrilled to have Bak USA locate their business within Compass East. Our goal from the outset of the development project was to turn the former hospital into a state-of-the-art professional office and STEM facility. Bak's occupancy of the fifth floor furthers that mission," said Jim Dentinger, president of McGuire Development Company. "This is truly a win-win situation for Bak USA, McGuire Development and the city of Buffalo." "It has been a pleasure to work with McGuire Development throughout the process of selecting a site for our business in Buffalo. The team's attentiveness and understanding of the needs of a high-tech company have made the development of our business in Buffalo a pleasure," said Ulla Bak, president. "We are excited to move into our new home and further Buffalo's new reputation as an advanced manufacturing hub." As a testament to the close working relationship between the two companies, Jim Dentinger has been appointed as a board member of Bak USA LLC.
