The event will honor Ted Moudis, AIA, senior principal of Ted Moudis Associates (TMA). Moudis has a 30-year career, having founded TMA in 1990 and propelled the firm to be a respected presence in the industry. TMA provides high-end architectural and interior design services and is headquartered in New York, with an office in Chicago and a formal alliance with MCM Architecture in London.
Moudis is leading the way towards efficient, environmentally responsible design and is committed to helping his clients reach sustainable goals and achieve LEED certification. Among TMA's noteworthy clients are Royal Bank of Canada, Kaplan, National Football League, Natixis, Tiffany & Co. and Goldman Sachs.
With a strong effort to support charitable and humanitarian causes, Moudis and his team volunteer a great deal of time and effort towards improving the lives of others. TMA is involved with many philanthropic organizations, including the ACE Mentor Program, Architect's Regatta, Canstruction, Create for a Cure, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, Eric F. Haray Foundation, Ganley Foundation, JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge, Muscular Distrophy Association, NY Cares, Revlon Walk, Special Olympics, St. Dominick's home and We Care.
For 30 years, the Annual Awards of Excellence Dinner has been bringing together professionals to honor outstanding projects, individuals, companies, service providers and vendors. This year, there are 75 nominees who will be considered to receive nine awards that will be granted on the basis of their participation and commitment to the chapter, commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness, contributions to their company in development, implementation or maintenance of a facility, dedication to developing a curriculum or teaching students in subjects related to Facilities Management, innovative design or their role as emerging leaders.
All of the 2012 award winners are determined by the committee with the exception of the Anthony Cornacchia Distinguished Service Award, which will be chosen by the current IFMA NYC president, Brian Ostrowe.
