Hydro Tech has recently finished major remediation efforts at a .6 acre property located in the southern portion of The Bronx. The property was formerly utilized as a gasoline station and warehouse and is being developed into a 6-story multi-use building with a full basement used for parking.
Prior to the remedial efforts Hydro Tech entered the property into the New York City Brownfield Incentive Grant Program (BIG) and negotiated environmental remediation with the New York City HPD. During the development of the property Hydro Tech supervised the excavation and disposal of petroleum contaminated soils and soils impacted with urban fill material.
Hydro Tech also assisted in the installation of a vapor barrier/water proofing membrane and injected oxygen releasing compounds (ORC) directly into the groundwater. Upon completion of these remedial efforts Hydro Tech filed for a $125,000 grant which the developer will be receiving directly from the BIG program. Upon completion of the building Hydro Tech will file a final closure report with the City Environmental Agencies and the HPD.
