Hunter of Louis Berger Group appointed to PWC board

According to Lenore Janis, president of Professional Women in Construction (PWC), Nicole Hunter, senior cost engineer for the WTC construction project with The Louis Berger Group, has been appointed to the board of directors. A construction management professional with over 20 years of hands-on experience on multi-million to billion dollar infrastructure projects, Hunter has been on the PWC committee of The Louis Berger Group for the past year. She said, "It's important for all facets of our industry and for both women and men to learn more about PWC and how we all can help further the progress of women in construction. I hope that as a representative of the organization I will be able to outreach to more companies and individuals in both the private and public sectors." On the WTC project with Louis Berger, she oversees the cost controls and monthly status reporting for the Vehicular Security Center (VSC), East Basement Tour Bus Parking (EBTBP) and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (SNGOC); tracks and forecasts escalation rates; and conducts cost-sharing negotiations with other project stakeholders. In her prior work with such firms as AECOM, Bechtel Corporation, and Kiewit, she provided comprehensive financial and progress reporting for major projects including the Amtrak 1stAvenue Ventilation Shafts Rehabilitation Project in Manhattan; East Side Access in Manhattan, Central Artery/Tunnel Project in Boston; and Skyway - New Bay Bridge Project, in Oakland, CA. Active with charitable organizations, Hunter served on the boards of The Metropolitans of the Wang Center for the Performing Arts in Boston (president) and Step Up Women's Network; and as a member of Gen Art and Voices Against Brain Cancer. Professional affiliations include PWC, WTS, CMAA, Society of Military Engineers and New York Building Congress. She holds a Construction Project Management (C.P.M.) certificate from Northeastern University and studied law/social sciences at Harvard University and business administration at Wesleyan College.
