Hunt Construction completes exterior upgrade
Hunt Construction Services, Inc. has completed the exterior upgrade to Consumer's Kitchens & Baths. Last year, Hunt refaced Kitchens & Baths' showroom in East Meadow. Consumers was pleased with the job and chose Hunt again to update the exterior.
Hunt was awarded the contract by the landlord, Long Island Industrial. Long Island Industrial is one of Long Island's largest commercial landlords, representing 3.6 million s/f of property, including a mix of 36 office/flex, retail, R&D, industrial, and warehouse sites.
"A properly installed Exterior Insulation Finish System (EIFS) job gives an outdated façade instant curb appeal," said Robert Ciurleo of Hunt Construction. "Kitchens & Baths' old exterior was outdated and unappealing and the interior specialist needed a make-over. Since we recently replaced the façade in the East Meadow location, Kitchens & Baths, knew we would deliver the same pleasing results, on time and on budget."
The contract consisted of replacing the façade, creating a planting bed, and installing a handicap ramp. Hunt acted as general contractor. The façade was replaced with an energy efficient EIFS. New electrical circuits, for exterior lighting, were installed. Crown molding and window accents were added. Concrete planting beds and curbing was installed and evergreen bushes were planted to complete the look.
The handicapped ramp was built in concrete with metal handrails for safety.
The job was completed without causing any interruption to Kitchens & Baths' operation or that of any other tenants in the shopping center.
Kitchens & Baths is a division of Consumers Kitchens & Bath Supercenters with showrooms in Commack, Copiague, Holbrook, East Meadow and Franklin Square. Products consist of cabinetry, countertops, hardware, faucets, plumbing fixtures, tubs, shower, whirlpools and appliances. The location in Holbrook is Kitchens & Baths' Corporate Headquarters, Distribution Center and Designer showroom.
