Hower and Mascetti join Herman Katz Cangemi & Clyne, LLP as associates

Jennifer Hower and Jacquelyn Mascetti have joined Herman Katz Cangemi & Clyne, LLP (HKCC) as associates. "We are very pleased that Jennifer and Jacquelyn have become associated with Herman Katz Cangemi and Clyne," said HKCC senior partner Jay Herman. "Their legal background and professionalism will be an important asset to the firm's clients going forward." Hower brings a diverse background and seven years of experience in the prosecution of real estate tax appeals to HKCC. Prior to concentrating on tax certiorari, she served as an assistant staff judge advocate with the United States Air Force. Hower is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association (member, committee on tax certiorari and condemnation, 2006; publications committee, 2007-2009); the Suffolk County Bar Association; the NYS Bar Association; and the New Hampshire Bar Association. She is admitted to practice before the courts of New York (2006), the U.S. District Courts for the eastern district and southern district of New York (2007), the courts of New Hampshire (1998), the U.S. district court for the District of New Hampshire (1998), the U.S. Air Force Court of criminal appeals (1999), the U.S. court of appeals for the Armed Forces (1999), and the courts of Colorado (2005). She is a 1998 graduate of Franklin Pierce Law Center, where she wrote for the Annual Survey of New Hampshire Law, and is a 1991 graduate of the SUNY at Buffalo. Mascetti gained valuable experience at a boutique litigation law firm in Manhattan. Prior to that, she worked as an intern for The hon. Anthony Marano, supreme court justice and administrative judge of Nassau County. Mascetti is admitted to practice before the courts in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. She received her juris doctor from St. John's University Law School (2011); a master's in Business Administration from the McCallum Graduate School of Business, Bentley College (2007); and a Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, from Bentley College (2004). At St. John's University School of Law, Mascetti was the associate managing editor of the American Bankruptcy Institute of Law Review, co-chair of the Public Interest Committee, and a senior staff member of the Moot Court Honor's Society. She earned several national Moot Court competition awards, including Winner, Best Oralist, and Second Best Petitioner's Brief at the 2010 Fordham Law School Irving R. Kaufman Memorial Securities Law Moot Court Competition.
