Hane promoted to executive director of Cushman & Wakefield

According to Cushman & Wakefield, Owen Hane, a 29-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, has been promoted to executive director at the firm. Hane's career at Cushman & Wakefield spans over 20 years, handling assignments for corporations such as ABN AMRO; AT&T; Bloomberg, L.P.; BaubleBar, Inc.; Escada; Moda Operandi, Inc.; Net-A-Porter; The CIT Group; UBS; Workman Publishing Co.; and WPP Group USA, and managing building agency assignments totaling approximately three million square feet. However, what is more telling than his success at the company is his true connection to the brand. "I'm a homegrown Cushman & Wakefield guy," said Hane. "I've always felt that Cushman & Wakefield was my home. I was always most comfortable here. I get the chance to learn something new every day by collaborating with the people I work with which is by far, one of my favorite parts of working here at C&W." As an experienced broker in the commercial real estate industry, Hane has continued to bring success at Cushman & Wakefield. In addition to his extensive work in the New York Metropolitan market, Hane has cooperatively handled significant assignments in Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Miami, New Jersey, San Francisco; Seattle; Washington DC, London and Mexico City. "Owen's commitment to his clients is extraordinary, and has led to repeat business, expanded business, and referred business over the years," said Ron Lo Russo, president of the New York Tri-State region at Cushman & Wakefield. "His work ethic and continued success, combined with his unyielding commitment to Cushman & Wakefield is a shining example for younger generations of brokers to follow, and we're incredibly proud of his accomplishments thus far." "I'm proud to have the opportunity to work at such a world renowned and respected brand for such a long period of time," said Hane. "To me, it's like playing for the New York Yankees of the real estate industry, and these colleagues have become family. Real estate is a tremendously competitive business, but I was fortunate to grow up at a firm that never lets you lose sight of what is most important - the client." What is also significant about Hane's career at Cushman & Wakefield is that he also serves as a mentor for young brokers at the company. "I cherish the guidance that I have received at Cushman & Wakefield from my many mentors over the years like John Cefaly, Don DiRenzo, Josh Kuriloff and Franklin Speyer," said Hane. "Not to mention, a management team that has always been encouraging and supportive which has helped me succeed. Now that I am 'senior broker,' I have the opportunity 'pay it forward,' and I relish working closely with young brokers to guide them at the firm and continue to maintain the nurturing environment that has been established here at Cushman & Wakefield. That is why I still play on our company softball team (a multi-year championship team, I might add) to maintain that comradery. Although, many of my friends in the industry will tell you it is because I am crazy competitive," he joked. Hane received his BA from Clark University and, to this day, Hane is an active member of the school's Alumni and Parent Admissions Program, and Alumni Club of NY. He is also a member of The Real Estate Board of New York, where he sits on the Plaza District Committee, and was selected to attend C&W's Global Achievement Conference. In addition, Hane is a member of the Young Mens/Womens Real Estate Association and Core Net. He's also an active member in many other professional, civic and charitable organizations. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Owen now lives in Connecticut, where he enjoys taking part in coaching his son and daughter's various sport teams.
