Westbury, NY Lesso Mall Development, dba Samanea New York, the new retail, entertainment and dining destination located at 1500 Old Country Rd., congratulated The Gravity Vault on its grand opening. One of the largest rock climbing brands in the country, The Gravity Vault Westbury offers over 18,500 s/f of climbing terrain including bouldering, top-rope, and lead climbing walls, designed to make rock climbing accessible and fun for all ages and abilities.

To celebrate, Samanea New York and The Gravity Vault Westbury hosted a grand opening ribbon-cutting event.

“We are very excited to open in Westbury,” said Mark Davidson, president of The Gravity Vault Westbury. “The community’s response to our first Long Island location in Melville, which opened in 2017, was tremendous and this new location is even bigger with new attractions and special walls for young children. The space at Samanea New York is ideal with 45-ft.-high ceilings in a bright, open and high energy environment with a great location in Western Nassau. Come join us for some adrenaline inducing fun!”

Samanea New York’s new rock climbing gym features over 250 climbing routes at any one time and includes wall heights that extend 45-ft. high, with views out across Long Island. There is a dedicated kid’s climbing area, an augmented reality climbing wall featuring interactive climbing games projected onto the climbing wall, an Olympic-style lead climbing wall, a bouldering cave, a climbing training area with two adjustable training boards, a state-of-the-art cardio and fitness room, and a retail store.

For beginners, The Gravity Vault Westbury offers an Education Station with classes to teach top-rope, belay and lead climbing. Guests can also choose to book a private one-hour staff training session for two or more climbers. Led by an expert instructor who manages the ropes, the session is tailored to the participants’ skill and interest. Those who have some climbing experience can purchase a day pass, which gives them access to all that the facility has to offer from open to close.

Serious climbers will enjoy Long Island’s tallest wall and longest climbing routes on the Olympic Style Lead Wall. A specialty climbing training area features a spray wall, adjustable training boards, and hang boards to help athletes level up their skill. Kids ages 7-19 are also invited to try out for Team Gravity Vault Westbury, a USA Climbing affiliated youth rock climbing team. Signups for tryouts are open now and can be booked online.

Located on the second floor, right alongside 43 feet of open window space, climbers will be treated to a spectacular outside view over 70 feet high off the ground, from an exceptional, newly designed open space,” said Dominic Coluccio, head of real estate, Samanea New York.
