Garibaldi of Israeloff, Trattner & Co. honored by LIBN

Michael Garibaldi, CPA/ABV/CFF/CGMA, president and CEO of Israeloff, Trattner & Co., has been named one of 2015s Outstanding CEOs by the Long Island Business News (LIBN). Celebrating L.I.'s top executives and signature firms and organizations, the annual Outstanding CEO award recognizes business and not-for-profit principals, presidents, executive directors, managing partners and partners who have consistently demonstrated remarkable leadership skills, integrity, values, vision and a commitment to excellence, financial performance, community and diversity. He is leading the third generation of a firm which continues to be a well recognized brand in the marketplace. Under Garibaldi's guidance, the firm has grown to become a recognized, award winning leader in accounting, forensic accounting, valuation and consulting for small to mid-sized closely held businesses and professional practices. However, it almost didn't come to pass. Defying the advice of counselors who were steering him into careers that would complement his manual dexterity and knack for spatial relationships, and determined to fulfill the legacy of his father, Garibaldi took an accounting class in high school and found that not only was he good at it, he enjoyed it. After pursuing a degree in accounting and encouraged to take a chance on him by sole practitioner, the late David D. Freeman, CPA, Garibaldi was hired by Israeloff Trattner & Co. upon his graduation from Hofstra University. "Nearly 33 years later, here I am" Garibaldi said. As President and CEO of Israeloff, Trattner & Co. and the officer-in-charge of the firm's Law Firm Services, Forensic Accounting and Valuation Consulting Group, Michael is responsible for the strategic planning of the firm, which has offices in Garden City and Manhattan, and for overall firm policy decisions. He is also responsible for client contact, development and satisfaction in providing the firm's broad range of services. Of the award, he said "I am truly humbled to be held in such regard and to be in the company of so many accomplished people. At the Firm, we have an impeccable heritage and an excellent foundation on which to build. We work together as a team and play to our strengths which is key to achieving our long-term goals." Israeloff, Trattner & Co., CPAs, PC is one of the region's leading certified public accounting, financial and management consulting firms with offices located in Garden City and Manhattan. The Firm provides a wide range of services for individuals and businesses in a number of industries. Their many services include accounting and auditing, forensic accounting, fraud engagements, business, professional practice and license valuations, domestic and international tax planning and compliance, merger and acquisition consulting, management consultation, technology, human resources and marketing consulting, financial and estate planning. The evolving relationship of environmental consultants and the lending community - by Chuck Merritt

When Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) were first part of commercial real estate risk management, it was the lenders driving this requirement. When a borrower wanted a loan on a property, banks would utilize a list of “Approved Consultants” to order the report on both refinances and purchases.
