Max Garelick

Manhattan, NY Max Garelick has joined Lorimer Capital as director, credit & underwriting. In this role, Garelick will lead the firm’s credit and underwriting platform, overseeing the evaluation, structuring, and execution of lending opportunities as Lorimer Capital continues to expand its bridge, construction, and mezzanine lending business throughout the eastern U.S.

Garelick brings more than a decade of commercial real estate finance experience spanning underwriting, capital markets, credit investing, and portfolio management. Prior to joining Lorimer Capital, he served as a director at Greystone, where he helped launch the firm’s mortgage pool purchase and CMBS securitization platform.

During his tenure, he led the execution of more than $750 million of specialized CMBS securitizations and analyzed over $2 billion of loan pool investment opportunities.

“I am thrilled to join Lorimer Capital and contribute to the firm’s continued momentum,” said Garelick. “Lorimer has built an outstanding reputation for being a responsive, entrepreneurial lending partner. I look forward to working alongside the team to further enhance our credit platform while continuing to deliver certainty of execution and tailored financing solutions for our clients.”

Earlier in his career, Garelick held investment and credit roles at Affinius Capital and Benefit Street Partners, where he focused on commercial real estate debt investments across a variety of asset classes and capital structures. He earned his MBA from Columbia Business School.

“We’re excited to welcome Max to Lorimer Capital at an important stage in our growth,” said Evan Bell, co-founder and managing partner at Lorimer Capital. “His deep experience across underwriting, structured finance, and credit investing makes him an exceptional addition to our leadership team. As we continue to grow our lending platform, Max’s expertise will further strengthen our ability to provide thoughtful, disciplined, and creative financing solutions for our borrowers.”

The appointment reflects Lorimer Capital’s continued investment in expanding its team and institutional capabilities as demand for flexible commercial real estate financing continues to grow.
