Head of the firm's tax certiorari department, John Terrana has obtained millions of dollars in real estate tax refunds and savings for clients, including national and regional owners and tenants of all types of commercial and residential property. He was recently appointed co-chair of The Suffolk County Bar Association's Condemnation & Tax Certiorari Committee. Terrana is a frequent writer and speaker on tax certiorari issues and has been listed in Long Island Business News "Who's Who in Tax Certiorari Law" and was also selected for inclusion in New York Super Lawyers in 2009. Barbara Shaheen Alesi concentrates her practice in corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate transactions, private placements of securities and mortgage and asset-based financing. She has served as chair of the North Shore Animal League America President's Advisory Board and as a member of the Advisory Board of Chicago Title Insurance Co. Alesi has served as an executive board member of the National Association of Women Business Owners-LI Chapter and on the membership committee of the Executive Women's Golf Association, LI Chapter. She has been recognized in many Long Island Business News' listing including Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business (2001), Who's Who in Women in Professional Services (2007), Who's Who in Corporate Law (2009). Most recently, Alesi was an honoree of the 2010 Annual Golf Classic event by the Education & Assistance Corp. (EAC).
